The Future

For several years the progress of the Disability Community has been hindered by the limitations of the premises in Closeburn Street, Possilpark. The original building was built 20 years ago in a style which suited the policies and methods of working of that time.

Following an in-depth feasibility study, a clear plan for the future has been established. Planning permission has been granted for an extension and complete re-modelling of the building to create a hub which will serve disabled people from all over North Glasgow. The increased space and clever design will allow twice as many activities to run as well as providing the platform for continued growth of the Social Enterprise activities. A detailed Business Plan prepared by MCM Associates outlines the way in which the Disability Community will respond to the changing needs of service users for many years to come.

We would be delighted to receive your donation towards our building project. Funding this exciting development is going to be a huge community effort with the Health Board, Social Work Services, the Housing Associations and Glasgow Community Planning all contributing and we also need the support of individuals like you who care about disability.
